Hello everyone and welcome to our classroom blog. This blog will serve as a weekly online journal entry. It will be a way to earn points for Language Arts class but SO much more. It will be a way for you to get your voice out there! Every week there will be a discussion topic/question posted by yours truly and it will be your job to respond. Your response may be in direct relation to the topic or may be a comment about another student's response. The topics will vary but your job will remain the same. Respond to the topic in as much detail as you find necessary and in as genuine a matter as possible!

the civl war mas a terable conflect i myself wil request to be on the northern side. when i do get the oprotonity i will aply for generl if i am on the union side. what i know about the amarican civl war is the sout wanted slavery and the north did not

ReplyDeleteFor the civil war unit, I want to b on the north side because I think slavery is wrong. I will not choose to be general because I don't like to boss people around and it's not my thing.

ReplyDeleteI want to be on the North Side. This is because i agree with their claim towards slavery. I think it should be abolished. I will apply for general because i want to know what being a true American feels like.

ReplyDeleteI know that the North was against Slavery and the South was for slavery. I want to be on the South side because I think it will be a challenge to overturn history. I would like to apply for general because it sounds like a very interesting thing to do. -Cody Hughes

I also want to change the history of the Civil War like what Cartman tried to do in South Park! He's pretty cool. I might apply for general because YOLO! ReplyDeleteIn the Civil War Unit, I'm pretty sure I want to be on the North side of the war. It's not just because the North always wins (although that is a nice advantage), but the North has the better cause, better ideals, etc. I'm definitely not going for general of the Union, however, because strategy and the other skills don't really fit me. Pretty much all I know about the two sides is that the North was anti-slavery & won under General and Future President Ulysses S. Grant, and the South was for slavery & lost under former Northerner General Robert E. Lee.-Lisa Young
ReplyDeleteDuring this Civil War Unit, I would prefer to be on the North side. I agree with the North's opinions, therefore I would be able to relate slightly more. I do not believe in slavery and I know that the North did not have slavery, while the South did. I personally would not apply to bea general, considering I am more of a follower than a leader.

I want to be on the Southern side because I'm pretty sure a lot of people will want to be on North. I probably wont apply for General though. All i know about the Civil War was that it was a conflict between the North and South over slavery and other political stuff. The north wanted slavery abolished and the South didn't.

ReplyDeleteAfter hearing Mrs. Nadell talk to in class, I want to change my request and go for the south. I am 100% against slavery, but now I know that only 30% of people in the south were pro slavery and that it isn't the only thing the south wanted. Also I think it will be easier to work with a small group, and a lot of people will want to be on the north.
I want to be on the north or south doesn't really matter to me I am still against slavery. i would not like to run for general because i would not be that great at leading either side to victory
ReplyDeleteI would like to be on the north because I am against slavery and cruel punishment to innocent people. But, as Mrs.Nadell said, not All the south was for slavery. They just had their homes and jobs and couldn't move north and leave all their things and lives behind. Other reasons I would like to be put on the north team is because woman were treated more fairly and humanly in the north. Men repected woman and woman had it better in the north and that is how it should be. Also, the north was more heavily populated than the south due to immagrants moving to the north rather than the south. This led to more job opportunities, more trade and a stronger defense. Lastly, the north was way "smarter", if you will. Their technology was far more advanced than the south making the communities and people of the north closer and more connected. This is why I would like to be on the NORTH:)

I know little about the Civil War other than the issues it was fought over and the generals. Battles and what not I have no clue over. I would like to play for the South. It's a strategy of mine that I've already shared with Mrs. Nadell. I will be running for Southern General against Cody and maybe Ethan. Whoever wins will be more than qualified in terms of leadership and respectability. I think I might be the most qualified for general but I'm probably a little bit biased. We shall see...

REBLOG: After hearing you talk in class today about how only a small percentage of the south actually wanted slavery, I would prefer to be on the south side. The southerners wanted to move north considering they did not believe in slavery. Therefore, disregard my previous comment.

I would like to be on north because i think that the north wanted a united country and to make sure that slavery was demolished in the country we have worked so hard to earn. I also know that the north won in the end so pick the winning team. and lastly because there is power in numbers. I think i am going to run for general because i feel it is something that would suit me well. And i could be a good general. But if i get general i think other peoples opinions and ideas are important so i will have bailey and jordan be my sidekicks. Soooo yea.

I want to be south because red is my favorite color. I know that the north won the war thats why we dont have slavery and alot of the southerners didnt actualy want to fight in the war. I dont really want to be a general because its kind of confusing to me byt it will be fun either way.

I want to be on the north side because I'm against slavery and using fellow humans to your benefit and abusing them, and I believe in equality.(and I have more blue clothes) I wouldn't apply to be general because it's too much pressure and I would be a horrible leader, and I'm not a loud speaker at all. Basically all I know about the war is that the north and south are fighting over whether or not slavery should be allowed, and that the north are for slave free, and the south are for keeping the slaves.

ReplyDeleteI changed my decision on which side to be on not just because of the colors. I prefer to work with smaller groups, I feel more comfortable rather than with a large group. Also, after hearing you say that only 30% of southerners were slave owners, my perspective on the south has changed greatly. I have realized that not all of them were proslavery. And to add to these reasons, I have more of the color red which would allow me to participate more in spirit challenges.
I don't know much about the war between north and south but what i do know is that 30% of the southerns were pro slavery and were rich folks! but also that north was a no-slave area. I wouldn't want to be on a general because it seems like you would have a lot of responsibility, which seems hard. I would like to be on the north side because i am against slavery and punishment that was unnecessary.

I want to be on the south side because I know that only 30 percent of the southerens were for slavery and I am 100 percent against slavery. I want to be on a smaller team and try to overcome all the odds and conquer the North side. I would love to be the general leading my side to victory and rewriting the history books.
