Week of April 15- Blog 4
Block 1/2 Only
This week you will get to make a team request for our CIVIL WAR simulation. North or South? Explain your reasoning. You will also get the opportunity to apply for General. Tell me what you are thinking. Tell me your plans. Are you going to apply for General? What do you know about either side or both?
2-3 sentences minimum. More would be nice.

Honestly, I dont know what I want for the Civil war yet. But maybe North?? Cause I think its that the south side is where they have slaves. And I think General sounds like a super cool idea. But I'm not sure what I would do or am suppose to do. If I get more information on the job; perhaps I will apply for it, If I knew more about it.

I want to be on the North because I think if I really was fighting for slavery, I defiantly would fight against is being allowed. I probably wouldn't be a general because im a pretty bad leader and I would probably fail everyone :) Im really excited gor it though!!!!!!

My team request might be obvious but i think i will choose the North side. My reasoning is that they won, i look good in blue (and have tons of it in my closet) and it seems like a very popular choice so there might be some good persuaders in the group. i don't know if i would like to apply for the position of a general seems that there is a lot of work and everybody is depending on you. if thats not the case i will probably do it. the good part of a general is that everybody has to take orders from you. they might look up to you too.
ReplyDeleteNorth. I don't believe in slavery, I think it's a cruel and disgusting thing. I would rather sit on a cactus then be on the South side. I might apply for General but I'll be needing more info on that before I decide. Although I think I would make an okay General/firebrand. I think... I think that slavery should never have been practiced. So with that thought in mind I probably will apply for General. I know that North side fought for freedom and disliked the act of slavery. I know the South side supported slavery and fought to keep it so they could run their plantations and use a whip. I know that no Mormon would have supported slavery, we believe (as most Chritians do) that all men and woman are equal, no matter your color.

Clearly, I would choose the North. (Seriously, who would choose the South?! I may need to have a little chat with them) Essentially all I know about the Civil War is that the North fought for freedom and the South fought for slavery. Slavery=lame, freedom=awesome. :P I don't know the responsibilities and rights of a general, so I'm not sure. I do like being a leader, so most likely I will apply.

I have noticed everyone is saying North, so if lovely Mrs. Nadell needs some south people she can throw me on that side, but just to be clear I am fighting for state rights not slavery ;D I will be happy on ether side as a general.

North. I dont know why, i dont know much about the civil war. I may apply, but i hope you dont need knowledge of civil war though....
ReplyDeleteI want to be south. I like there colors. red is better then blue. and for the genral thing i dont want to do it because i dont like talking to people that i dont have things in commen. so i would prefer to be south.

I would choose the North. Even though 30% of people in the South were anti-slavery, there were more people in the North who were anti-slavery. I would love to be a general because I really like being a leader, but I don't think anyone would listen to me. :( But I'll probably still apply and hope for the best!

i would really like to be on the north side becuase its like a tradition most of my family was on the north side and i would reallly love to keep that tradition going. it would be a huge privaledge if you allowed me to be in the NORTH SIDE! I know way more about the north side then i do about the south side... honestly i would appreiciate it if i was on the north side... thanks and please consider my wishes...

I would like to be on the north side. The main reason I want to be north because I would like to be with the larger group of team mates and I would like to be fighting against slavery.

I definitely want to be on North ! All I know about the Civil War & the North & South is that North was against slavery and they were the free states ; South was for slavery. I also know that only 30% of the people wanted slavery & they were mostly rich people who wanted slaves to do all the work for them. (How Cruel !) I know that I don't want to be a General because I feel like that would be a lot of responsibility & to much to handle ; especially if you did something wrong. GO NORTH !

Fo Sho North side!!!! I know that everybody is choosing that and of course who wouldn't? I mean I would choose the south side for diversity and the color red but not becuase Im for slavery. What we learned in class this week was horrible but imformative, and I think that it was good that you taught us that. Anywayt I think I will apply for general becuase I like being able to have a bigger voice in things and I like helping others in the group by being a motivator. I don't do it for the power. I do it to help people.Anyway GOOOOO NOOORRRRTTTTTTHHHHH!!!! hahaha sorry.

I definitely cose north go anti slaver, who would chose south#astridquintalia(hope I spelled that right if not sorry asteroid) but I do get what the south is saying this cou try was built on slavery but would I ever own a slave hack no it is horrible so obviously I chose north wooooo and as far as this general thing goes I think that I will have to pass I do want to be the one calling the shots it's not my cup of tea but speaking of food I think that we should have a party to celebrate out history and the theme will be north and south of course but it needs to have cotton candy I have and HUGE hankering for some and It can be blueberry and cherry flavored red and blue north and south.

I think I will support the south side because everyone is choosing the north side and not everyone in the south was for slavery. Some people tried to free slaves in the south. I dont think im going to apply for general.

I would like to be on the North side. I really like that color insted of red. :) I know that North was trying to get rid of slavery and the South were for slavery. I dont think I would want to be a general. I dont think I would be really good at being in charged for my whole group. I mean if I did get that job I could try my best but really I wouldn't want that job for sure.

I would like to be on the South side! i have more red clothes than blue so ill have more to wear for the capture the flags game. Also, Florida and North Carolina are in the south and those are my 2 favorite states (: I don't want to apply for general.

I am going to be on the South Side because only some people that lived in the South could own slaves, so not everybody supported them. I might apply for general so i can get back at Devin.

I personal would like to be apart of the south. a reason is that everyone would want to go to the north. also the general at he time Robert e. lee at the time of the civil war. and people remember the war was started because of the south wanted to be balanced with rights not just slavery.

This week i have been thinking very hard about which side i want to be on. Because most people are wanting to be on the north side i will suport the south. Even though slavery is totally not cool most of the peoole on the south were fighting for free rights. So go south!

i really want to be on the north side because i have more blue. also because they didnt have any slaves and they didnt treat people like animal.
ReplyDeleteNorth. Even though the south was trying to fight for freedom, that didn't change the fact that they still had slaves. I know the north was against slavery, and the south was for slavery. I'm not going to be a general because I don't lead very well and I like to be a follower.
