Blog #5 3/4 ONLY
As we start the unit on the 13 colonies, you need to start thinking about the short story you will be writing. You will take a fictional character and drop them into a colonial setting. Will your story be about a runaway slave? Will your story be about a Native American battle in the colony of Virginia? Will your story have a little witch trials in it or a love story? Will you be writing an action-adventure or a comedy? What types of stories are you drawn to? I want you to use this blog as a pre-pre-pre brainstorm of sorts. Start thinking about your short story and what you may want to write about and list some ideas or start a brainstorm here.
As always, a minimum of 2 sentences please!

My story will be about how a indian boy deals with an attack on his village by the American colonist. Then after a failed attack he will have to wear colonial clothes and act like a teenage colonist to get back to his village. ReplyDeleteMy story will be about a white rich land owner and his daughter who lives on a giant plantation who grows tobacco with 12 slaves. The slaves try to escape but get captured and are beaten. The rich land owner's daughter is in love with a teenage slave but might never be together because of their color skin.

So far I'd like my story to be about a long last love connection and how they meet. They'd meet maybe by the guy or woman being a slave. But I'd also like some adventures in it as well.Not to sure yet.

My story is going to be about a rich farmer in the south's daughter. The farmer gets injured and the apothecary doctor has to come and chop off his hand while the girl watches. He dies from the leeches and the family has to throw a funeral. Lisa Young

my short story is going to be about a blacksmith that works at the shop with his father because its his family's trade. However he dosent want to be a black smith he wants to be a baker because food facinates him. when his father finds out he disowns him and tells his dear friend the town prison guard of what happend and the authorities are out for the son as he tries to hide, find love, and be the baker he wants.

Personally, I think it would be interesting to write my story on the witch trials. When I read about it, it seemed so interesting. I think I could really write a lot about it and have a lot of useful information. -Tiffany Scott
