FINAL BLOG POST FOR YOUR 8th GRADE YEAR

My goodness, where has the year gone?  I feel like a moment ago, I just met you all and you stared up at me while I introduced myself, trying to be funny, and none of you laughed- blank stares..Maybe you were nervous about starting 8th grade or a little overwhelmed. But not true anymore. Now you all DON'T stop talking and joking around and you are more comfortable in class than I could have imagined.

I am going to miss you all.

I will miss Conner's random history lessons and Ellis's questions. I will miss Kelly's filter-less thoughts about Reggie Bush and Ash's SHOWS (but I won't miss being scared on a daily basis). I will miss Vlad's dance moves and Carina's laugh. I will miss Wyatt invading my personal space and much more. I will miss Will's participation and help along with all the girls who volunteer on a regular basis. I will miss you all more than i can say but will save all that for a more appropriate time.

Use this YOUR FINAL BLOG as a reflection on the year-

1. What lesson or unit have you enjoyed and why?
2. What topic was the most interesting to you? Explain.
3.  What do you wish we learned more about?
4. What from class will you miss next year?

And anything else you want to reflect on, please do! Make this your LONGEST BLOG POST EVER!!!!

  2. I have reallllllyyyy enjoyed this Civil War unit because I think that it made people participate more in class then they normally would. I love getting into character and pretending to be a rich plantation and slave owner with 7 kids, writing the letters back home were very interesting trying to write them like I actually had just fought in a war. I think that the Westward Expansion was a fun topic to see how our country became so GINORMOUS mostly because of greed for land, pushing Native Americans out, and of course...GOLD! I especially liked making those mini movies about moving west, it made learning about the topic way more fun. I wish we learned more about the other amendments to the Bill of Rights, because in 1919 when the 18th amendment banned the sale of alcohol, my great-great-grandfather sold it illegally and I thought that could of been a funny thing to share with the rest of the class. I am going to miss EVERYTHINGGG from this year, this was the best Humanities class I have ever been in my 3 years at Maywood. I am going to miss all the teachers but at the same time, I just want to get out of this school!

  3. This year has gone by so fast, it's crazy.
    1. The lesson I enjoyed most was the civil war unit. It was fun because it wasn't just any normal day in class. You got to actually feel like you were in the Civil War with the rally crys and flags. I also liked when we made the Mini Dramas because you learned a lot, but still had fun.
    2. The topic that was most interesting to me was the slavery unit. It was really interesting to me learning about slaves, and how badly they were treated.
    3. Something I wish we had learned more about is narrative writing because I like doing those the best.
    4. I will miss everything about class! All the fun times we had and all the memories we have made.

  6. 1-I really enjoyed this unit, the civil war and not just because I was general, I am fascinated that this only took place like 150 years ago (I so hope that’s right)
2-And I think the most interesting thing was the slave unit and how cruel people can be.
3-the only thing I wish I could learn more about is public speaking, I really enjoy talking in front of people.
4-and what I will miss the most is the fun we have in class, at the beginning of school you asked who are favorite teacher were, and I think it is you because your class is one of the only classes I look forward to.

  9. I really enjoyed learning about the civil war, and watching the movie glory. Also, I like how were are divided into North and South. I liked learning about history in general. The civil war was the most intresting topic for me. I liked learning about how our country became how it is today. I wish we could learn more about poetry, and writing poems. I will miss how cool our class was, and I will miss you, since you're my favorite teacher!

  10. Oh my..... this year has gone by fast.....
    1. My favorite unit this year was, by far, the Civil War! I think it's so fun how competitive we are about the whole subject. Whether its finding more extra credits, or sitting downs first. Especially for points on the board. The tension between the teams is really funny to me, like people saying "I'm not getting you a highlighter, you're on the North Side!" *cough cough* Carina Morris (:

    2. Once again the Civil War was the most interesting unit! I never knew what the Civil War was about, and I never new how or why the slaves were set free! Then, reading and learning how our country came about and how the leaders of the country set the foundation of our country, was really interesting!

    3. What I wish we learned more about this year was writing. I've never really been that good of a writer, and I would like to improve! Also, I wish we learned more about how to stay on track in our writing and how to organize it.

    4. Now the sad question..... :(
There isn't a thing from our class that I won't miss! I came into this class so scared because I barely knew anybody, and now, I know everybody and I don't feel awkward or weird talking to them! I've never been in a class that has felt more like a family than this one. I feel like Mrs. Nadell's class is my home away from home. This is the class I will miss the most and never forget! I love all of you!
You're Peach is really going to miss you Mrs. Nadell (:
    Love,
    Peach

  11. I enjoyed learning about the civil war because it was such an interesting topic and we got to see Morgan Freeman in class. The most interesting topic was also the civil war because it was a big part of american history and there was so much to learn.I wish we learned about what happened after the civil war and how our country rebuilt itself. Last but not least I will miss everything about the class because everyday it was something new and class was almost always fun

P.S. Morgan Freeman and Top Hats are cool just like bow ties, fezzes, Nyan Cat and ghillie suits but cooler

  12. Do you understand how sad typing this final blog of the school year is? Mrs. Nadell, I must say you are my favorite teacher. It will be very sad next year. I will miss you so much.

Well onto the school stuff, I guess the best part of this whole school year was Civil War and Junior Achievement because of the simulation we do and the JA field trip. But out of those two, I think I like JA better and I guess I wanted learn more about JA.

I'm going to say I'm just going to miss this class overall the most. Everything we do, everything we say, and how you're so chill with it.

I don't know what to say Mrs. Nadell. I remember when I had you for Digital Photography! Man that was fun! And then now 1 whole year of humanities. You're are amazing! I'm so sad.. I'm going to miss you so much! ):

I love you Mrs. Nadell! Take care, this isn't good bye, until next time. - William Nguyen A.k.a Ninja.

  16. Sorry I know my post is late but the question seemed to important to brush off.

    1. The lesson/unit I enjoyed was the civil war because of all the interactive things we got to do.

    3. I wish we learned more about the artillery of the civil war, also the architecture they used.

  17. My post is a few days late like Ash's because, my computer wouldn't let me post it a few days ago when I tried blogging. But, I still want to do this blog whether I get points or not.

    1.The unit I enjoyed was definitely the civil war because even though it's hard to believe that's school's fun - it was actually a really fun and interesting unit. Especially because, I had the opportunity of playing the spy. Muhahahah. (;
2.The topic that was most interesting to me was learning about President Lincoln and how he was assassinated. Especially looking at pictures of the actual house or chair he was in. Or the actual gun or boot of the assassin. It's amazing that it was really theirs and that we still have it to this day.
3.I wish we learned or did more simulations for the civil war because, I am a very competitive person! So, I found that exciting. (:
4.And last but, certainly not least I will miss everything! I will miss everybody being in a class together because, we all were like a family. I will most definitely miss you, Mrs. Nadell, whether it's from you making fun of my Tom Sawyer drawings of people with abnormally fat arms and legs or to our conversations about how cute Justin is. (: - Okay maybe I was the only one talking about how cute is but you know you secretely find him attractive! How could you not? I mean c'mon he's Justin Bieber. (:

You can deny it all you want but, we both know you do.

Well, I most definitely will come visit you when I have moved off to highschool - or Hollywood. (: I will leave you with a few autographs that you can sell for hundreds of dollars. Haha. Sound like a plan? Okay. (:
