FINAL BLOG POST FOR YOUR 8th GRADE YEAR

BLOCK 3/4 ONLY:

My goodness, where has the year gone?  I feel like a moment ago, I just met you all and you stared up at me while I introduced myself, trying to be funny, and none of you laughed- blank stares..Maybe you were nervous about starting 8th grade or a little overwhelmed. But not true anymore. Now you all DON'T stop talking and joking around and you are more comfortable in class than I could have imagined.

I am going to miss you all.

I will miss hearing "Debatable" on a daily basis. I will miss the constant talk of food from Scout. I will miss hearing 6-pack talk occasionally! I will miss how often you all help me out in class whether it is Malindi and Geddy reading or Raman and Sami passing out papers. I will miss all of you tons. In fact I will tell you all how much I will miss you when the time is right. For now, I want you to use this blog as a reflection on the year.

1. What lesson or unit have you enjoyed and why?
2. What topic was the most interesting to you? Explain.
3.  What do you wish we learned more about?
4. What from class will you miss next year?

And anything else you want to reflect on, please do! Make this your LONGEST BLOG POST EVER!!!!

I will miss the special moments including when I had to write a full page about how stupid I was to say I was bored in class, or how Sami, Austen and I played ninja in class.I loved the stories Mrs. Nadell told and how she was so in to Glee!!! I got to know many people more clearly due to this class. I always looked forward to humanities the only class that was fun while I was learning something new! 2. 1. i have definitely enjoyed all of it! every single day i would look forward to coming into class since it was my favorite class this year. All the topics were great and fun in class how some sort of joke would always be made.
    2. If i had to pick it would probably be the civil war since it was so much different than modern war and it changed the outcome of our country.
3.probably J.A. since it's a really important subject and is used a lot in the future and every day lives in the real world and we need to prepare for that kind of financial stuff.
    4. i will definitely miss most of all the class, everyone in our class has their own special role and there is always something funny to laugh about with everyone and enjoy.
Going into High School is going to be awesome and i cant wait but i will miss a lot from middle school and all the good memories from 8th grade. -Jordan Carlson (last blog) - J~DOG

  4. Wow I cant belive its all almost over too. Well what I would like to say is that it was all worth rembering.
    1. The lession that I Learned is what made the United States what it is today. If it was the Revoluntionary war, or the Lewis and clark andventure, war of 1812, west ward expansion, or the civil war, it was worth finding out so that I know what people did to make are country the best there is.
    2. The most interesting topic to me was the civil war because to me it was like another big war that happen to use but this was the only one that has two sides of the united states spliting up and fighting for what they belived in. Also we got to split up are class for the civil and we are going to do capture the flag on friday wich well be very fun.
    3. I wish i would of learned more about the westward expansion because I didnt pay much attention because I didnt realy have to do with war. I think that if paid more attention then I would have done a little bit beter on test.
4.I am going to miss ever thing about this class. I think that I was one of the best humanites class that I ever had. Thanks Mrs. Nadell!

  5. 1) I really can't choose which lesson I've enjoyed the most. The reason for that is because we get in depth with what we're learning and we also seem to have fun. The lesson's that you've taught Mrs. Nadell are also so pleasant and I think that I can't say which one I didn't like either! The civil war unit, is amazing though!(:
    2) The topic that was most interesting to me is the civil war, the reason for this is because how it made us a nation that we are today. Also how we did the Bucket List... That made me realize that we can't let our lives be lived short. We need to experience more than just Xbox or TV or even what people tell us. We have to enjoy every day because tomorrow is never promised. Plus, our future is always going to be a mystery if we don't comprehend what we do now.
    3) I would've liked to learn more about the Junior Achievement unit that we had for a week or two because it was interesting to learn about how to budget, even though it seemed to very long. I realized that what we were doing on the field trip Monday made me feel like my mum because of all the "bills" I had in front of me. (:
    4) I think what I will miss the most next year from our class is just the fun we had. Even though at the beginning of the year of 8th grade people who barely knew each other or even let alone talked to one another, now do. Mrs. Nadell you've taught us to just be comfortable and since going up to Liberty, we'll have to re-adjust ourselves to something new. We'll meet new people, experience new things and have to wonder where we're all going to be.
*** Mrs. Nadell, your an amazing teacher and I think your my favorite out of all my MMS experience. Your let loose but also know how to be comfortable with everything. Even in awkward conversations.(: You act sometimes like one of us students. Your easy to talk to and it seems like none of us are afraid to come and talk to you. I'm going to miss you a lot because your the teacher that I look forward to in the day.***

  6. Thanks Mrs.Nadell! That's so nice. (But in my opinion i'm not going to miss hearing "debatable" every day.) My favorite unit that we've done this year is the civil war unit because it was really fun splitting into north and south and competing against each other. Not that i don't always, but it makes me want to participate more so that we get more points. I think that if teachers did that with all of their units then there would be way better grades and more participation-Ya know, since everyone is so stinkin competitive. The topic that was most interesting to me was probably the civil war because it was one of the few interesting battles that happened in america and grown-ups always talk about it and know what it is and i don't like being left out of the conversation BUT now i know what they're talking about. I don't really wish that we learned more about every thing. Not that i don't love humanities! I just think that what we learned this year was really useful and i'm not really curious about any thing else. One thing i'll miss from class next year is probably the people. Despite how crazy some of them make me when they tell me to calm down, EVEN THOUGH I AM CALM!, everybody makes me laugh all the time. But i know that i will see all of them neext year! So its all good.(=

  8. Mrs.Nadell, you are one of my favorite teachers; you are funny and always make me laugh. Unlike some classes, I enjoy walking into your classroom, hearing the sound of laughing coming from inside. You will always be one of my favorite teachers Mrs. Nadell and thank you for a great year! I have really enjoyed the Civil war unit. I think that it is super fun playing Ulysses S. Grant and bossing people around and getting in 'fights' with the Robert E Lee's. :)I think that the most interesting topic we have learned about is still the Civil War. I love learning about all of the battles and tracking how "I" (Grant)do in them. I wished we learned more about Lincoln’s assassination because those things are always interesting to me (Which I think is a little strange!) I will miss all of the students in our class and the awesome TA's. I will also miss all of the laughs that we have each day! Mrs. Nadell's class has been awesome!!!!! Love you Mrs. Nadell :)
    ~Hanna :)))
Ps: I WILL NOT miss Noah saying 'Debatable', it drives me CRAZY! :)

  11. 1.) I enjoyed the civil war unit the mostt. This is because I think it was the most fun, for example the points, and everyone trying to beat the other side, and the cheers. Even though some could have used some work..
2.) The slavery topic was the most intersting to me. Because I think it had the most detail and was something I could care about.
3.) I wish we learned more about slavery.
4.) Something I will miss from class is the noise and you trying to be funny. I thought this year was really fun.

  12. 1. I have anjoyed the civil war untit because it's so creative the way that we get to learn about it. So good job Mrs.nadell(:
    2. The most interesting topic to me was Carpe Diem. It really made me express a freedom in my own beliefs instead of going by others. The movie was amazing! I can't believe that I hadn't seen it before.
    3. I wish that we could have learned more about poetry and important quotes or good poems. I really enjoyed your examples of the poetry pages for the anthology.
    4. Next year I will miss your creative ways of teaching, your adorable outfits and the way you're so good at relating with all of the students(:

  13. 1.I really enjoyed this civil war unit because it was so competitive and it was amazing how we won by just 30 points. it was so intense!
    2. The topic that was the most interesting was the life graph because it allowed us to learn a little more about the people in our class.
    3. I wished we learned a little more about the exploration of the country and how we spread out everywhere and basically conquered most of north america.
    4. I will miss this whole class because it had the perfect blend of people and one of the coolest teachers ever. It was also awesome that we could eat in class and how scout thought he was in control sometimes; This last year was my favorite in my 3 years at maywood.
