Block 3/4 only!

Let's talk about Junior Achievement. Er... Write about it. What did you learn about money management during this whirlwind unit? What part are you still curious about? Did you opt to do the extra work to raise your grade up to 50/50 or are you taking the 40/50? Discuss.  GO.

  1. I learned that money is green. But also that it takes cost alout of money to take care of yourself and that if you dont pay your bills that alout of things can go wrong. What I am still curious about is why does more money you make the more the goverment takes away. Why? I am going to try to get 50/50 on this. so yea i well try to do the extra work.

  2. I found this unit interesting. I wish that instead of being in groups we should have been in partners. The housing part of the budget was the hard part.I am doing the extra credit to get 50/50! But I loved this unit!!! Can't wait till the field trip!!!

  3. During this JA unit I learned to manage stocks and the cost of living an average life. I wish I could have learned how to right checks though. I did take up the opperutity to get 50/50 for the grade.

  4. The Junior Achievement unit was a good thing to learn. J.A. let us see real life scenarios and put in perspective how important budgeting is. We are going into high school and this helps us try to get good grades to get a higher paying job. Money management is really important and you can't just buy things when you want.

Yes I have opted to work extra and go for a 50/50 for 100%.

  5. From our money management unit, I learned that budgeting is very complicated. A lot of math, saving certain amount of money, it's all tough. I'm still curious about the transportation and gas. I plan on getting 50/50 on my JA grade.

  6. I learned in this unit that managing money is not always in favor of yourself. For example if you're short on money you can't buy the things you want. Unless you're willing to go bankrupt or homeless. I am still curious about how stocks work. I'm not quite sure how they function. I did the work for 50/50 because the principal told us to do our best in these last weeks of middle school.

  7. The thing i learned about money management that i think is really important is that you need to know how much you're going to spend on what so that you can plan ahead and make sure that you make enough money to cover everything. The part I'm still curious about is insurance: how long do you have to pay for insurance until it actually starts to cover things, and what exactly does it cover? I decided to go for the 50/50 by doing the xtra credit.

  8. I learned that things are a LOT more expensive, and you need a lot of money to live a 'normal' life. I am still curious about different job oppertunties and the amount of money the get per year. I opt to go for the 50/50!!!!

  9. i really liked this unit or half unit because i really like learning about money and money management. i have learned about more than half of this although i would really like to learn more about the stocks and how to manage them. i am not going to do the extra credit because i have to do my science project still and i have a very high A and dont need the full 50.

  12. I did do the extra for 50/50. I learned that it is difficult to mange money espically when you dont have very much and are forced to spen a certain amount of money to spend on every thing so you have to maake alot of things work and skip things certain months iif you dont have enough money for them _ noah smith

  13. I learned that you can't awlays get what you want. Literally. With taxes and monthly payments, you have very little money for extra things such as clothes and entertainment. I wish we would have learned fmore about stocks because we only spent like one day on it and i'm still a little confused on how they work. I think i am going to go for the full fifty points, but i don't know yet, depends on my mood. :)

  16. I learned that it sucks toy do taxes and to keep track of all your stocksIt will be hard as an adult to do all that stuff every year, but that is what JA is for. Also, i learned about stocks in survival skills so it wasn't anything new to me.
One thing that i want learn more about though is saving up money for big things, because i have never saved more than $200 in my life.
I think i will have to go for at most 45 out of fifty because i thought that the homework that was due last week was the extra credit. so whatever.

  17. I learned how hard money managment actually is. It's never a real issue for kids because that's what our parents deal with, it almost doesn't seem real. I'm still curious about banks and trust finds. What do they really do with your money? It seems like we need to learn more about real world situations. I opted to go for the 50/50 because the extra pages are so easy that I figured it would be stupid not to do them.

  18. During JA i learned that when adults say they're stressed, they mean it! I appreciate what my parents do way more now because they have so manythings that they have to responsible for. This prepared me for the future and having to pay bills and make payments on things like cars and houses and buying groceries. I did the extra pages to try to get the 50/50.

  20. This unit was very unusual in many ways i found out i wouldnt be able to live on a budget. Especially two people in the household. I didnt finish the stocks but i did do the extra credit because i definitely need it.

  22. I learned how hard it is to budget. I also learned how to track stocks. I am still curious about what jobs give you so much money. I also wish I hadn't been absent one day because I missed the introduction to the unit and I'm not sure if that is going to make the feild trip more difficult for me, or if it won't matter. Yes, I did do the extra work to get 50/50.

  23. its a cool unit because you get to work with money and more real world situations. i have learned a lot about money handling and how important it is to save money since you can get so close to debt depending on the circumstances. i did the extra work since i need to get my grade up.-Jordan Carlson

  25. 40/50 THAT'S WHAT I'm going for! :D ... I learned that you have to save money to earn money and that when you have a kid that's seven year's old and you work as a Travel Agent; you have to spend your money wisely. I'm curious about how adults know how to save a budget because I don't think I'd be good with one. O_O" Don't know why.

  26. This week in JA i have realized that buying things on a budget is kind of frustrating and hard to do. But i like to work with money. I am going to earn the extra 10 points because i want to get my grade up.
