The person I am influenced by the most is Benjamin Banneker because he proved that black people were just as equal as whites because he was a smart and very succesfull man. He believed that everyone even women should have ewual rights and he turned out to be right because we live in a society that works and we have figured out everyone deserves the same. Women have the same rights and black people have the same rights wether your black white of blue you should be treated the same.

  4. I don't think our government was influenced by only one person but many people including Hiawatha. I believe him because he believed in peace and the three branches of government also that no one person should have too much power. And that all people, men, woman, all races, should have equal rights.!

  5. From our Matrix of Thinkers Press Conference, i thought one historical thinker that greatly influenced our United States government as it is today, would be Abbey Abbigail because she fiercelt believed in both women's and black's rights. I believe that she was so dead-set on getting blacks and women their rights that she must have helped us today, considering that blacks and women now have rights!-Wendy Fillman

  6. I think that Baron de Montesquieu greatly influenced our government. He had the origional idea of three branches of government. This is the main setup that we use today. It prevents people from getting to much power and doesn't let just one person make all the decisions. It helps everyone have a say, which is one of our main achievements. He made the setup for our government which acts as the support for our whole system.

  11. I believe the historical thinker that greatly influence our United States government as it is today would be John Locke. He believed that people have the rights to reason if given the proper information. His idea of a good government was thoughts should be approved by the people and he stated that people should get individual freedom and liberties.

  12. One historical thinker I think that greatly influenced our United States Government as of today was, Abigail Adams. The reason why I chose her was because, without her opinion on womens rights, today us women wouldn't get the freedom we have today. She made a really big impact on our society and because of her there is an equal balance of rights between men and women today.

  18. i thought that hiawatha greatly influenced our gov't because he was such an succesful man and bring peace to his fellow native tribes. he showed how his country was able to succeed and not fight at all and still come out ok. even though he had a monarch gov't he still was able to control his people. a democracy was a good addition to the government as well.-jordan carlson

  22. I think Benjamin Banneker greatly influenced our government today. He believed in rights for black people and women. He started getting people to think that black people and women were just as smart as anybody, and that they deserved to be treated as equals. Now because of people like him women, black people, and other races are treated the same in the U.S.A.
