Welcome to the big bad world of blogging!

Hello everyone and welcome to our classroom blog. This blog will serve as a weekly online journal entry. It will be a way to earn points for Language Arts class but SO much more. It will be a way for you to get your voice out there! Every week there will be a discussion topic/question posted by yours truly and it will be your job to respond. Your response may be in direct relation to the topic or may be a comment about another student's response. The topics will vary but your job will remain the same. Respond to the topic in as much detail as you find necessary and in as genuine a matter as possible!

In order to receive the credit you justly deserve, when you post make sure your full name is listed.

Week of 10/4-10/8

BLOCK 1/2 ONLY
Greetings! This week I want you to be thinking about effort.  I am going to keep the topic broad so that you can write about this topic in any manner you see fit.  When do you give ALL your effort to something? When do you not? Are there times when it is okay to not give 100% effort? Are there times when you wish you had given your all?

Use your post as a reflection on the topic, but please check your work before you submit it- everyone can see what you write, so you want it to reflect your best EFFORT!

Try for a few sentence minimum folks and as always post by Friday morning.  Happy Blogging.

EFFERT alright, depending on what subject is that were talking about depends on the amount of effort givien. I mainly give my full effort to something depending on how much the assingment is wurth in points. I don't provide much effort when it's the opposite. I beleive there are times when you don't have to give 100% effort because sometimes it's just not necessary. There were definitely times that I'd wished I have given my all, because when you play with fire your going to get burned; if that even connects.

  3. I give all my effort when I'm asked to clean the bathroom or do chores because i don't like living in a messy house. I don't give all my effort when I'm asked to do something that i don't want to do, such as walk the dog and clean the kitty box. I usually make my sister do it.

I always give my best effort in test and projects because they are worth more in school. now in HW i don't always give my best effort because they are not worth alot. There are times when you don't have to give 100% like in sports or somthing your not into. there are some things that i wish i put more effort into like the life graph but live and learn.

  6. I give my all in school (usally). I also give my all in most sports. I think every once in a while you don't need to give 100% for example, youdon't need to give 100% while you warm up in sports or when you walk somewhere. There are times I don't give my full 100% like when talking to my friends, Sometimes I get super tired and just abbriviate my words or I hust don't say anything. There are times I feel I should have given my full 100%- sometimes I just don't pay attention during softball when I am in outfeild-I usally try give give my full effort in school.

  7. When I give all my effort, it is in sports, school assignments, and quizzes. when i don't give all my effort, i am mainly messing around, or trying rest for a while(like I do in sports). Sometimes I also get down on myself, and think negatively, and that also leads to lack of effort. Most of all, I try to give all I got on everything.

  8. I give all my effort into something that I really want to acheive, such as playing a sport. Considering how lazy I am, the statement of me playing a sport isn't true at the moment but, I'm always all up for a competition and I hate to lose. Therefore - I shall put in all my effort. Now an area where you don't need to give all your effort would be in something not too important. Such as something that you have a lot of time to do such as, walking across the grocery store. That's a bit random, but you'll see where I'm going with this. You don't need to put a huge effort into walking across an aisle to get let's say,a jug of milk, you can take your time. Unless your in a jiff, then there's excepetions. (: That's an area where you don't need a lot of effort put in, I mean c'mon is it really that important? What's it gonna do? Give you a little bit of exercise and check you out faster? Yes. But is it really that important? No. Yes, sometimes if I'm extremely tired or I'm in a bad mood, I start to slack with my school work, and wish in the end I could go back and put a little more effort into it. They say everything happens for a reason - but c'mon, put all your effort into it anyways.

  9. I do my best work on presentations, tests/quizzes, big assignments, and other very important things. I don't usually do my absolute best when i am doing class work, i don't try much at all in p.e. because thats not my only exercise for the day. Over time i start to not do my best because i feel like i have done enough hard work in my life. In life there are many times where you don't need to give 100% and usually that's because you can't. I do wish that i could of put in more effort on lots of things, but its too late now.

  10. I mostly give the most effort in school because thats what mostly counts in life to get you a job and go places. i do believe that you dont always have to give in your most effort, for example, if you are warming up for practice or a game or cleaning the house..because my mom mostly does it all the time (:

  11. I will usually give all my effort when I'm really into something or I enjoy doing it, so the opposite of that is usually when I don't give something all my effort too. I think you should usually give all of your effort but there are a few times when you don't need to. I wish I had given more effort in school in the past.

  12. I think the time when you put all your effort in to something is during school sports and life all around. Also I dont think there is a time when you shouldn't give your all.

  13. I give all my effort when doing homework and things I want to do or are suppose to do. It is OK to not give all your effort if it really does not matter or isn't important. There have been times when I wish I gave more effort but didn't but I almost always try my hardest.

  14. I usually give all my effort into something I enjoy doing, like soccer, or different types of activities. I try to give my best effort in everything, but sometimes, it's hard to. I might not give all of my effort when its late at night, and I have to get my homework done, or have to do something important. Sometimes, you don't have to give all your effort into something, but you should try to give some. When you try to give just a little effort, you might actually enjoy the task, you might not have otherwise looked forward to doing. Mostly after I get a test back, or after soccer practice/game, I feel that I might have been able to give a little bit more effort. Knowing that I didn't do very well, makes me try harder the next time.

  15. Effort, something I really try to do everyday on everything I do. When you do something, effort should be put to 100%. It shows how great you can do something and how much thought you have put into your work. There should be no time that you shouldn't give 100% effort. There have been times when I wish I gave more effort. Especially in sports, if I had tried harder to go faster, then I might have gotten a better time.

  16. Effort is a really important factor in succeeding in everything you do. I use most of my effort in sports, tests and other activities that really mean a lot to me. When I sometimes don't put as much effort in my schoolwork it shows and I wish I had spent more time on it. Usually I don't put a 100% into something when I don't have enough time. Distinguishing when and how much effort you need to put into something is important when trying to do a good job. Putting in even just a little effort makes what you've done that much better. If you don't put in any effort, you are never going to get better. Mr.Eggers always says "If you wanna run fast, you gotta run fast." I think this means you need to put effort into things to get something out of it. I finally understand that crazy teacher (:

  17. The only time I give effort into something is when I am doing something I enjoy or doing a school project or homework. This I put effort into these things because one I believe that education is important for my future and two why should I give effort into something I am not interested in. The only time when it is okay to not give full effort is when you are not supposed to or if you do not care about what you are doing. I believe that because if you have no intention on giving a lot of effort into something then don't do it. The only time that I feel that I should have given full effort on something is when I did terrible on a thing that I thought I gave it 100% on.

  18. I give all my effort when something is very important or when someone asks me to do something like vacuum or wash the dishes. I dont give all my effort when something isnt that important. I think there is only one time to not do something with 100% effort and it is when the thing you are doing isnt that important. I wish i could of given more effort on some things like studying for tests, running cross country races, and play basketball games.

  19. I give my full effort in sports, like swimming and cheer. Also i give full 100% on my homework and school work, most of the time. These are the things that keep my mind off of things.I don't give my full effort on things that are not very important to me, things that I really do not care about. But most of the time I think of effort as a thing that should be put at a full 100% every second of everyday. Effort is a thing that we all live on. No matter what is going down it should always be put under the 100% all list!

  20. I give it my when i am on stage, wether im singing or dancing or simply licking a lollipop im always giving 100%. part of this is because if i dont i will look like a fool....but the real reason is because its a passion. And since im not as good as Ash or Regan i have to push hard to do great. Another time i give 100% is in Mr.Wessels room, no offence to my other teachers whos rooms i do try hard in! But in Mr.Wessels room i dont try hard so that i wont fail i try hard so i can be amazing, from taking photo's and designing layouts in year book to photostory and sketch up in dig design i really give it my all in that room.
Are there times i havent given 100% effort? of course! nobody could awnser that with a no! I dont give 100% in sports, and when im tierd i dont give it my all oh homework, although i did give 100% on my life graph.... chores are definetly a 50% effort kinda job, really if i dont enjoy it, it dosent get 100%
times i regret not giving my all, hmmm, well there have ben some aduitons that i havent given 100 and gotten a bad part, and there have ben some friendships i didnt give 100% into, some projects here and their, lots of things really, i will say im putting alot of non needed effort into this blog post ;) haha okay thats all

  21. Spoken out by Kelly at 10:44 PM.

Effort. The word effort can mean so make more than a simple "trying". To me effort means really showing that you can do it, you want to do it. I always give my all in school because besides the fact that my parents are strict. I know for a fact that effort will get you far in life if you do good in school. If you try to listen, pay attention, study, and do your work, it will pay of in the long-run. Sometimes when you know its not your day & your absolutely tired, you can take a break from things, and just relax. Everyone deserves a break. Whether its sports or test or whatever I always try to give it my all, you never know what onething can take you in life, so you better do it right or don't even do it all at.
Not giving effort seems like you don't care about anything or seems like " why am I even doing this?" Do you want to be reflected like that as a person?..I'm sure I wouldn't.

    * I agree with what Mariyah has to say. Not just because she is my friend, but because I think what she said is very true (:

    XOXO, Kelly Le.

  22. Most of the time when I give all of my effort is usually for a sport, say basketball or football. I mean they're fun and it's energetic but I just don't like losing so I try my best! One of the thing I don't have to give a lot of effort into is flirting with girls (; It's just so easy and I must say I'm a natural. It's pretty much like they just come to me. Yeah there's time when it's okay not to give 100% because it could be a group thing and when it's a group you want to work together not better then others. Yeah, there are some times when I wish I could have given 100% percent, but It's just a lesson to learn the first time, so that I'll do better the second. "There are no mistakes to be made but just lessons to learn from."

  25. I try hardest on hard assignments. But I still could have put more effort into my life graph. I don't put alot of effort into things that are easy.

  26. i usually put in 100% effort into all the things i do, except some things that are not worth 100%. i wish i had given all my 100% on my 7th grade science test, i got a c- instead of a b+
