I think that Columbus changed their lives in a lot of different ways. I think the most one that changed was that he made some of the natives slaves and cut off their hands. In my paragraph I am going to be writing about why he was a bad person and not a hero. Also if he caught the natives stealing food or anything he would hang them just for that. That definitely is going to contribute into my paragraph.
ReplyDeleteBefore Columbus came, the native people were peaceful and believed that they shared everything. When Columbus finally arrived in 1492, things changed. He brought chaos and greed into the native peoples' culture. He also brought in new diseases into the population. One of these diseases was called small pox. It affected many people because the natives weren't used to the disease and have never experienced anything like it. Overall I don't think Columbus did much good deeds for the natives. Ben Tran
ReplyDeletecolumbus was a murderer, he even said in a journal that the natives of an island he found were gentle and would be easy to capture to enslave for spains benefit. so he completeley changed there lives because he tought them about war and guns and violence and that is not a good thing necassarly.
ReplyDeleteColumbus diffently changed the lives of the natives. The Natives were peaceful people and when Columbus came they did not know of guns. Columbus was only out to get gold and land and treated the natives poourly; his comming to the "new world" was not wanted by them, unknown to them until it was too late. Columbus changed their land for the worse so one could say that even though he wasn't the first person to find America, he was the one that destroyed it in a way.
ReplyDeleteColumbus totally destroyed the lives of the natives. Columbus sold them as slaves in Europe and Spain. One thing he did do was give them a new religion and forced it upon them.
ReplyDeletewhen columbus found a new colony and established it he demanded that natives should be shipped to spain as slaves. this changed peoples lives because the poor innocent natives had to leave there land to go all the way across the world to spain as slaves. also theses natives weren't harming anything before columbus cfame. there was no reason for colyumbus to send them as slaves.

To the natives Columbus brought dieseases and wepons. Also Columbus made alot of natives slaves. Columbus had exatorated on the amount of gold that was there.
ReplyDeleteColumbus did change many peoples life; from my point, in a bad way. Columbus collected many natives and sent them back to Spain to be slaves. He asked for gold from all the natives and punished them hashly when they didn't. Columbus did change the lifes of the natives.

i think that columbus is a bad person. He came and enslaved everyone who lived in pre-america.columbus told everyone he discovered new land, but people were already settled there.
ReplyDeleteI think that Columbus changed the natives lives in many ways. First of all, he took their land and claimed it just like that. Second of all, after he took their land, he sent them off to Spain as slaves, or even killed them. He basically juts kicked them off as if they don't matter. It changed their lives because they were happy, then he came along and ruined their
ReplyDeletewhole environment.

Columbus changed their lives by presenting things to them that they never would've known unless it wasn't for him. He showed them weapons and other sorts of things from the 'Old World' he called it to the 'New World', that they would use later on in life. You could say it made them change their whole way of thinking in sorts of matters. When it came to battle, they were perpared to fight and had skilled people to win. Columbus brought over religion to the 'New World' and showed them how the worshiped God. Columbus gave them new experinces into their lives.
ReplyDeleteThe idea is, what if Columbus didn't come to America. Would we still be Natives of the land or have our own lives contributed by different cultures. Could any of us relate to one another.
Christopher Columbus made many changes, most of which had a negative effect on the people already living there. Columbus brought disease such as the flu which the natives had never before been exposed to. This wiped out many villages and spread quickly. Columbus also brought guns and other weapons which were new. The native american's bows and arrows had no effect, having a shorter range and less accuracy. Columbus effected everything in a place by making one simple discovery. He wiped out millions of people and created new colonies. These changes were permanent and are still around today.

Woo hoo first comment! (; I would say Columbus changed the natives's lives by bringing diseases to the "new world". On the ships many poeple got sick and with their goods brought over dirt, filth, and germs/bacteria, making some poeple die or get ill. Also they brought over new weapons and greed and war.

there was a good side to colubus yes i acknolage that. there was also a brutal side to columbus he cut off peoples body parts if they were not filling up there bag of gold. he also hung them if they did anything bad. both of theese ideas conrtributed to my paragraph i wrote about him as a bad person. every person has a good side and a bad side on different individuals the certin side shines more than the other to different people
ReplyDeleteI believe that Christopher Columbus changed the lives of native americans by showing them democracy and liberation, and showing them new techniques to do other things like hunting. But he was a liar and selfish and would make slaves out of native americans. AND he would cut off various body parts for stupid, small crimes.Meanie. Wendy Fillman
ReplyDeleteChristopher Columbus was a murderer. all he wanted was gold and he did anything to get it. he sold slaves and had them do work for him. he brought over disease which killed hundreds and hundreds of natives. he was a very bad person but if it wasn't for him we would not have what we do today thanks to the Columbia exchange

ReplyDeleteWhat we all should know by now and most likely agure on is that Columbus was a murderer. He distoried millions of native tribes. He came into their lives brain washing them new ways of greed that the natives haven't even thought likely to come across them. To them Columbus was a jerk with no right of what he was doing. Because of people like him the world is a worst place.
Columbus changed the natives lives by introducing weapons and war to them. In his journals he noticed that they were peace loving people that shared everything they had. Columbus didn't care at all. He just wanted their gold, their land and them for slaves. Also, in his journals he mentioned gold around one hundred different times.

Columbus changed alout of things when he arived her in the Americas. First of all he chang culture because of the way he killed alot of natives just for land and gold. He had way beter weapons. But what really killed alout of people was that he brought over disease that they did nit have the imunity for. now thear are not alout of native americans as there used to be.

ReplyDeletecoulumbus is a bad person for many reasons. He traveled to America and took credit for being the first person there. When he wasnt. He found the natives there and made them slaves in there home land. lots of them died. either from sickness or him killing them. Columbus was a very bad person and there isnt anything he could do to make up for his actions
columbus changed a lot of how the natives lived and respected people. The natives probably stopped trusting people after that beecause columbus took control out of a small present. he left then returned thinking he ruled all of them. he abused, used and mis treated them when he had no right to.
ReplyDeleteColumbus changed thier lives i alot of ways mostly fort the bad. columbus was heading ot to explore when his ship got wrecked. Thankfuly he was near an islandand the people were nice. They helped him get his things to the island. Befor he left he gave the people a gift in return they have im a crown. He took it the wrong wayand thought they were giving him their land. So he came back with militarty and traind attack dogs and took over the land and killed a lot of natives.
ReplyDeleteColumbus came as a alien to the world of North America. When he arrived the natives were kind to him, they even gave him a crown, but Columbus was brutal and went back to spain, and returned with weapons, soilders, attack dogs, and other violent stuff. Columbus pretty much changed a world of kind people into people who were kind of afraid, since he pretty much killed, raped, or enslaved everybody. And even though the natives mostly died of disease, alot died of Columbus and Desoto (I blame Columbus for Desoto) killed everybody, and destroyed their cities.
ReplyDeleteMalindi Williams
Columbus came to North America and killed hundreds of people for some gold. He didn't have to kill all those people but he did anyway because he could. He could have help them and gave them stuff so the native people would let more Spanish people come to north america.
ReplyDeletechristopher Columbus brought many things that changed how the natives live. Such as types of religon (Christanaty). When someone is telling you that your religon is wrong you would get mad.
