Hello Newbies.
The beginning of a school year is always a mix of sadness and excitement for even me, a teacher. I like having the chance to start fresh and try out new projects/ideas but I always am reminded of the students I already miss from previous years which makes it a bit emotional. What is it you like about the start of a school year? What is it that leaves you a bit nervous, sad, or upset? Explain this to myself and your fellow classmates and remember you can always return and see what others say. Feel free to comment as much and as often as you would like!

ReplyDeleteWhat I like about the start of a new school year is that I can see my old friends again. Also I can meet lots of new teachers and make new friends. A new school year is a fresh start and I hope to do well in my 8th grade year. Ben Tran
ReplyDeleteThe new school year is always fun because you get new classes and you get to see all your friends. At the same time it's a little nerve racking because you have to find all your classes and remember everything you're supposed to do.

There are many things that I like about the start of the school year. I like being able to see friends I wasnt able to see over the summer and have great teachers. I also love have different classes with different kids in each of them. I am always sad at the start of a new school year too though. I miss the summer and all of year free time we have during it, where during the school year we don't have very much. Then when I see my schedule for the first time and comparing with friends always make me forget the end of summer! ~Hanna Hanson
ReplyDeleteWell I like a lot of things about a new year such as meet new and old friends.I also like getting new and exciting teachers.For me the start of the school is like a new beging. Another year to work harder and have more fun. Although it is hard to leave the good teachers we had befor 8th grade, but I think it just teaching us about change and how ever day things change. Personaly the day befor the first day of school is always so nerve racking, but at the end of the first day of school I always look back and wonder what I was nerves about.Thats why I don't ever look at the first day of school as the end of the summer, but as the beging of a great school year.

ReplyDeleteWhat I like most about the start of the school year is meeting all my new teachers. I also like meeting new people and seeing my friends agian. I am nervous at first though to meet my teachers because they might not like me, but this year all my teachers are cool.

I am always excited to see my new schedule and see all my old friends. I love hearing about their summer and telling them about mine. Also i love going back to the sixth grade hall and visiting my old teachers like Mr.Eggers and Mr.Gillingham. But when the year starts i am always nervous that i won't be able to find my classes(but really who isn't?) Also i worry that my classes might be to advanced for me. But my classes seem pretty basic.( so far)- Wendy Fillman

ReplyDeleteWhat i like about going to school is being able to see my friends that I didn't have a chance to see during summer, also that I get to meet new people and teacher! But what i'm nervous about going back to school is if the teachers ! will get are too mean or just too nice sometimes....I also worry about if i'm going to have the same classes as my friends so i could be able to talk and catch up with them :D

ReplyDeleteThe thing I like about a new school year and im not trying to copy you Raman but you get to start with a clean slate, and another chance to always start trying harder. I also like the new school year cause my favorite holiday is around that time!
A few things I like about the new school years is, I get to meet new teachers, and have opportunities to meet new students as well. I also like to switch up my learning environments so that I'm not bored being in the same spot every day. The things that make me nervous about a new school year is if I have mean teachers or if I am in a difficult class.

ReplyDeleteI love the start of the new school year because it is a fresh chance for better grades and trying new things, not to mention hanging out with friends. Although it is a bit nerve racking because you dont know which teachers you are going to have or who is actually in your class so I definitely have mixed feelings about the new school year.

I really like the beginning of the school year because I get to see my old friends, make new friends and have a new chance to get better grades. Sometimes it sucks that some of your friends aren"t in your class so it disappoints you.
ReplyDeleteI like the start of the school year because i get to see all my friends again and i also get to see what new classes i have and if i have them with my friends. The only thing that makes me nervous or sad is if i don't have any of my friends in my classes.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I like about the new school year the best is that not only is it a fresh start but it is a new chapter in your life or yearbook, however you want to call it.I will have to agree with Michael though. It is a little nerve wrecking to find out the new teachers that you have, even more nerve wrecking if you are moving from another school in a distant state.

ReplyDeleteThis is Josh Ryker Speaking. It's great to come back to school and see all your old friends that you feel like you haven't seen in ages. I like the idea of getting to start off freash. I enjoy the though of having the chance to begin the year off new and different, maybe. I know for me I'm always nervious on the first day of school. I'm sure we all have a weird way of feeling when coming back to a new school year.

ReplyDeleteI love getting to see all my best friends and getting to meet new ones. Also seeing all my favorite teachers and meeting my new teachers. Not getting to sleep in and having way less time does makes me sad. Plus I miss some of the old 8th graders. I get kind of nervous because I have no idea what electives I got and who's in my classes.

What I like about a new school year is getting the chance to have a fresh start and seeing friends I didn't get a chance to see over the Summer. Something that leaves me a bit nervous is my fear of not being able to find my class and getting embarressed. I have friends of alot of ages older and younger, something that makes me upset and sad about a new school year is that my older friends may no longer go to Maywood. Summer Barnhill
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about the knew year is seeing all my friends over the summer that i have not seen last year. It is fun catching up with them and talking about what they did over the summer. I am always nervous because I'm afraid that i will end up with now friends in my class.
ReplyDeleteSomething I like about a new school year is seeing all of my friends I haven't seen in a while. I also like meeting new teachers, that I'll see for the rest of the year. What leaves me upset, is ending the summer. I'm nervous for what classes I have, and who I have them with.

What I like about a new school year is that I can start off with a clean slate & not worry about last year. I like how I can meet new people & experience new things through-out the new year. I like the see my friends from previous years to tell them what I did in the past summer months when I couldn't see them.
ReplyDeleteWhat leaves me a bit nervous during the new school year is knowing each year get's tougher as days goes on in the new year. I think what leaves me a bit sad is when my friends in upper grades from the previous year, I can't see them anymore at school.

What I like about a new school year is you can always just start fresh and you can always improve what you did last year, you meet new teachers and see all your friends again. Something that leaves me a bit nervous is after a test I'm always nervous about my results. Something that makes me sad is that sometimes people change, since this is my last year at Maywood it's just hard to say goodbye.
ReplyDeleteThe event that would get the highest ranking on my life graph would be when me, my mom, and my sister went to New York for the spring break of seventh grade. We stayed at a hotel 2 blocks from Time Square. We went to the Empire State building, Rockefeller center and lots more. This deserves the highest ranking because i have always wanted to go to New York and it was totally worth it!-Wendy Fillman
